Opportunities are Abundant
You'll need to search a little to find them, but opportunity is always present. Where do you look?
The first place is in what's happening in your life already. You likely have unfinished business with people and projects in all too many directions. Do you have good ideas that were never fulfilled and loose ends that you've never found time for? Perhaps it's time to clean up what's been started but never finished. Or, it may be time to address what you've been avoiding. Completing unfinished business is a powerful door to opportunity.
Similarly, if the economy has been challenging for you, then there are components of your unique value proposition or strategic plan that had holes in it. Boats with small leaks do fine in good weather, but take on more water and lose their easy-going charm in troubled, stormy weather. Does this sound like your business? If so, now is your opportunity to patch the holes in your offer or delivery system or strategic plan. Necessity requires us to become stronger.
The other opportunities are in your heart. The world is changing quickly and we can all benefit from imagining what the new economy will eventually look like. Rapid change means some industries will flourish while others become endangered. If you can imagine what your customers' future needs and buying influencers will be, you will be able to reinvent your company successfully.
But even in a flourishing industry you will need to excel in the face of improving competition. When things are difficult for people, like they are now, everyone focuses on improving their effectiveness. Your innovative spirit will be rigorously tested.
That's why we suggest you spend time reflecting on who you are and what you have to offer. Your heart is a literal treasure chest of creativity and innovation. When you quiet your mind, your heart can speak to you. Your heart already has the seeds of inspiration planted in it, and is waiting for you to provide some sunshine and water.
So, instead of working harder in a game that isn't working for you, or may have an expiration date that's sooner than you think, spend some time in reflection. Spend some time at the coast or next to a river and let the sunshine nurture your inspirational seeds of innovation. If you do, listen carefully for the soft sound of your own creativity. It's very different from your internal voice that focuses on limitation and negativity.
We call this connection to your own creativity, your voice of inner wisdom. We have found it to be the leader's most profound and empowering asset. It is your biggest door to opportunity. If you knock, it will certainly provide you with your next prosperous idea and adventure. Enjoy renewing your relationship to infinite possibility.
