Adversity introduces us to ourselves.  With the economic challenges we all face, we get to see how we respond to unexpected breakdowns in our business models.  It’s easy to be effective and wise when times are easy.  But now we are faced with either our anxieties and reactions to breakdowns, or our deep confidence and trust that we can weather the downturn.   Tough times show us what we’re made of and where we’ve been unprepared for adversity.  As leaders we need to dig deeper and expand our contribution.

In our December newsletter we encouraged service as an effective vehicle through this economy.  At LionHeart we are taking our own advice seriously.  We have two new initiatives for 2009 we’d like you to know about.

Pro Bono Service Offering for Non-Profit Executives

We are collaborating with two other organizational development consultants we’ve enjoyed long term relationships with to offer a customized program for 12-15 people who live their service ethic daily.  We will be focusing on executives of organizations that serve the people in our community who are most at risk.  We will listen to their needs and see if we can be useful to them in one or more of these arenas: leadership development, organizational transformation, high performance teams, strategic planning and implementation, and executive coaching.   Our invitation letters will be going out soon and we have room for your input regarding potential participants.  Please send your nominations to paulw@lionhrt.com.
